A crawler crane is a crane mounted on tracks. The tracks spread the load over a large area so the crane can lift without outriggers and even travel with a load on its hook ("pick and carry"). Crawler cranes range from 40 tonnes to more than 3,000 tonnes in capacity.
Bridges, power plants, refineries, wind farms, heavy steel erection and port construction.
Some of the largest are the XCMG XGC88000 (rated around 4,000 tonnes) and the Liebherr LR 13000 (3,000 tonnes), used for nuclear, petrochemical and offshore projects.
