Crown was founded in New Bremen, Ohio, in 1945 by brothers Carl and Allen Dicke, originally making temperature controls and TV antennas. It entered materials handling in the 1950s and is now one of the world's largest lift truck manufacturers.
Crown builds most of its components itself, including motors and electronics, and its trucks have won numerous industrial design awards.
