Göran Fredrik Göransson founded Sandvik in Sandviken, Sweden, in 1862 to produce steel using the Bessemer process. Over 160 years it became a global engineering group. Its mining business (Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions) grew through acquisitions including Tamrock of Finland, whose red drill rigs are now Sandvik-branded.

What Sandvik builds

  • Surface drill rigs like the DP1500i and rotary blasthole rigs like the DR412i.
