Ponsse is a Finnish manufacturer of cut-to-length forest machines. Its yellow-and-black harvesters and forwarders work in Nordic forests, Central Europe, the Americas, Russia, Brazil and beyond.
History
Einari Vidgrén, a forest machine operator, built his first forwarder in 1970 in Vieremä because he was unhappy with the machines available. Ponsse grew from that workshop into one of the two global leaders in cut-to-length forestry alongside John Deere. The company is still majority-owned by the Vidgrén family and its main factory remains in Vieremä.
Lineup
Harvesters from the compact Beaver to the Scorpion King and Ergo, and forwarders up to the 20-tonne class including the Buffalo.
