The Wirtgen Group is the world's leading supplier of road-building machinery. Each of its brands specialises in one step of the road construction process.

Brands

  • Wirtgen (founded 1961 by Reinhard Wirtgen in Windhagen) — cold milling machines, slipform pavers, recyclers and surface miners. Its W 210 Fi is a benchmark large milling machine.
  • Vögele (roots in Mannheim, 1836) — asphalt pavers and screeds such as the SUPER 1800-3i.
  • Hamm (founded 1878 in Tirschenreuth) — rollers, including the HD+ 120i tandem roller and the oscillation technology Hamm pioneered.
  • Kleemann — mobile crushers and screens; Benninghoven — asphalt plants; Ciber — asphalt plants for South America.

In 2017 John Deere acquired the Wirtgen Group for about €4.4 billion, adding road building to its construction business.
