Demand for skilled operators remains strong in many countries as experienced operators retire and infrastructure spending continues. Operators skilled with GPS machine control, cranes and mining equipment tend to command the highest pay.
Downsides include seasonal work in some regions, weather, long hours away from home on remote projects, and physical demands.
