Tiltrotators: are they worth it outside Scandinavia?

In Sweden and Norway, almost every excavator from 6 to 30 tonnes leaves the factory with a tiltrotator. Elsewhere they are growing fast but still less common.

Why operators love them: the attachment can tilt and rotate, so the machine digs around obstacles, shapes slopes and places kerbs without repositioning. Contractors report big time savings in utility and landscaping work, and less hand work in trenches.

The downsides: cost (often a significant percentage of a mid-size excavator's price), added weight at the end of the arm which reduces lift capacity, and the need for proportional controls and operator training.

If you run a tiltrotator, would you go back?
