Overview
Unveiled in 2013, the BelAZ 75710 set a Guinness World Record by carrying 503.5 tonnes in a test. Its rated payload is about 450 tonnes. Unusually, it has two diesel engines driving alternators and four axles with eight tyres, all driven.
Why so big?
The truck was developed for a Siberian coal mine to reduce the number of trucks and drivers needed. In practice, ultra-class trucks of 300–400 tonnes remain far more common because of tyre, shovel and haul road limitations.
