Overview
The Komatsu HM400-5 is Komatsu's 40-tonne articulated dump truck. Komatsu has built ADTs since acquiring designs from Moxy and other makers and has steadily refined them.
Features
The Komatsu Traction Control System (KTCS) automatically applies brakes to individual wheels to prevent slip, while the inter-axle differential lock engages automatically. Automatic retarder speed control lets the operator set a downhill speed. Payload meters and KOMTRAX help monitor productivity.
