Overview
The Cat 299D3 is the largest model in Caterpillar's D3 compact track loader line. It is popular for land clearing (with a mulcher), site prep and grading.
Undercarriage
Cat's torsion-suspended undercarriage uses independent bogies that move with the ground. It improves ride quality, traction and material retention, and is one of the reasons Cat CTLs are favoured by grading contractors.
Technology
Options include a large touchscreen, Cat Grade with 2D/3D for compact track loaders, Smart Attachments, and high-flow XPS hydraulics on the XE models designed for land management.
Alternatives
Compare with the Bobcat T770 and Kubota SVL97-2.
